Odyssey Literary Festival is a free public event led by students of RMIT University’s Associate Degree in Professional Writing and Editing. Now in its fourth year, the festival is a celebration of writers, readers and book-lovers from Melbourne and beyond. In 2019, the theme of the Odyssey Literary Festival is Raze / Rekindle. It’s a Hardback Life—a discussion between graphic designers Josh Durham and Peter Long about the influence of genre on book design.
Sisters are Killing it For Themselves—a panel discussion featuring female crime writers Anna Snoekstra, Megan Goldin and Moraig Kisler, plus author, editor and publisher Angela Meyer.
Write Dirty To Me—a competition for the worst erotica!
Game of Tropes: The Writers are Here—a debate pitting literary highbrow against the conventions of genre with guests Sofie Laguna, Mark Brandi, Mal Larkin, Gabrielle Williams and Astrid Edwards as moderator.

Letters to my Emerging Self—seasoned writers share a letter to the inexperienced writer they once were featuring Mark Brandi, Jennifer Down, Sian Prior, Fiona Scott-Norman and Yannick Thoraval.
Ten Poets—poets perform their own poetry and read work by a poet who has influenced them with guests Ania Walwicz, L.K Hart, Simon West, Craig Sherborne and Phillip Hall.
Literary Labels—a discussion between Jo Case, Melissa Cranenburgh, Michael Webster and Fiona Wood about whether labels alienate readers more than they attract them and how labels can impact a work’s critical and commercial reception.
